it’s yeti styles’ first trip to the ice cream parlour- he’d wanted to go earlier but there were so many people! the last time he’d been in a crowd he’d gotten frightened. he just wanted to make some friends but as he shyly tapped on a woman’s shoulder to see if he could get past, he saw her husband quickly pull her away as muttering filled the air.
what’s that yeti doing here
doesn’t he know we don’t need his kind around this town?
but he knew that if he wanted to make friends, he had to try.
he looked in the mirror, tightened his new blue bowtie, and headed out the door.
he was right, the ice cream parlour was packed! there were people everywhere, but he quietly waited for his turn. he took his ice cream and his change and smiled politely, but as he turned around, he was jostled and shoved in the crowd. his hand clenched around his cone nervously, but forgetting his own strength, crack! the cone snapped- his ice cream fell to the floor.
he couldn’t help it- his mouth trembled, his shoulders sagged. all that effort, for naught, until-
he turned and met the eyes of a young girl, dressed up in her sunday best, her smile kind,
would you like some of my ice cream?
